Date Night

Every Friday night, Lisa and i try to have dinner together, just the two of us we call it date night. So far, we have been able to pull this off but it’s been dinner together at home after Sienna goes to sleep.

Lately, we have been “training” lisa’s dad on the proper procedure for putting Sienna to sleep so we can actually leave the house to eat dinner. The first time he did it, was for valentines day. Sienna was still awake when we got back. We figured it was just the excitement of seeing grandpa before bed that did it. The second time was better…

We were in the mood for Japanese so we strolled over to our local Japanese joint. The place is nice. The people are polite and the food is acceptable most of the time. I find the food better when we go there instead of take out.

Sienna is starting to color. I guess coloring is a general description of what she is doing. I think she is trying to do crafts like her mom. Lisa got her special markers that only work with a special coloring book. At least we don’t have to deal with markers on the walls and furniture.. yet…

Walking Skippy

Some Sundays we all go to walk Skippy and pickup the Sunday paper. This Sunday we spoke to grandma and grandpa in Jamaica on Skype. We usually do this on Saturday mornings but Gabby was sick on Saturday so they couldn’t get around to talking with us. After speaking with them, we went for our walk around the block.

Kohls

On this beautiful but chilly Sunday morning, Sienna and i took Skippy on a nice walk around the block. After the walk, we all went to Kohls to pickup a couple of things and just to get out of the house for a little. Sienna seems to like running around this place. On this trip, she insisted on pushing the cart.

This morning we spoke to my parents in Jamaica via Skype. This is the normal Saturday morning ritual at our house. Here is a screenshot of them in full Obama gear that Lisa got for them…

After breakfast and some Sesame Street, we went out to Queens to visit Tammy, Mark and Zack. Before getting there however, we had to make a quick stop at ACMoore. I don’t mind stopping here so much anymore. I have Sienna to play with until Lisa figures out what she wants to get.

Playground time

We awoke this morning to find the temperature hovering in the mid 50s F !! I know that sounds cold but to us New Yorkers, thats playground weather!! Sienna was totally into going. She kept saying “slide” and “Playground” as if she was just making sure she understood correctly that we were indeed going to the playground.

It turned out to be a little windy so after about an hour and a half, Lisa came back for us. Sienna did not want to go home. Big surprise!!

Elmo Live!!

It’s Saturday, what did we do?? Well, we went to see Sesame Street Live performed at Madison Square Garden . The day didn’t start so great. The trip there took waaaaay too long. The Q train was so slow “train traffic ahead” the conductor kept saying. Yeah right. I guess that’s what happens on the weekend but ugh was it frustrating. Sienna for the most part was a good girl. She did have a little issue which i’m sure lisa will cover in her blog.

The show was fun. Sienna was very excited to see everyone on stage. She sang and even danced a little. After the show, we went down the street to get some pizza. All in all, a nice day out for the Menou family..

Snow!!

Today it snowed in New York! I guess it’s not a big deal considering it is winter after all. We just haven’t been getting any significant snowfall this year. It’s just been cold. Generally speaking, i hate the snow. Oh sure, it looks nice when it comes down and blankets everything but the cleanup is just blahh. I decided to venture out during lunch to snap a couple of pictures. More pictures here..

Fiveguys Burgers

Today we had a itchin for burgers for lunch so went to 5guys burgers in Bay Ridge. Overall, the burgers were awesome!! I had the bacon cheeseburger, Lisa had the cheeseburger (with tomato) and Sienna had the grilled cheese sandwitch.
