Grandma is back!!

Grandma has arrived on a quick pass through visit on her way out to Thailand to visit The Chopards.. Her trip was not without incident however as the stupid Air Jamaica lost her suitcase!! It turned out that they left it in Kingston for some reason. Who knows why they do stupid crap like that. That airline will not get my business again.

To be fair, they delivered it on Tuesday morning at 4:40 am. No, that’s not a misprint, 4:40 AM!!! Thanks to the “friend” who made a call to get things moving..

While we were waiting, Sienna pointed to a well dressed black man and said “Obama”.. I guess he could look like him.. I don’t think he heard but it was cute..

Almost Spring weekend

This time of the year is always weird. it’s kinda coldish, it warms up for a day then cold again. I want to take Sienna to the playground without having to cover her up with a coat and hat. It’s coming, i know, I’m just a little tired of the cold air..

We needed to pickup a couple of things at Target and Old Navy this weekend so off we went after the Skype session with my parents.

Here’s Sienna outside Target. She’s eating her goldfish snack and posing for me…

At Old Navy, Sienna took a liking to the little girl manikin. She liked the dog too..

Later that day, we had a visit from uncle Peter!! Usually when Peter comes over, Sienna is taking her nap so we have some time to hang out with him. However, she wasn’t up for that at all. She got him to play blocks, read books and generally horse around with her. I think they both had a good time.. Peter and i discussed cookies and banana bread baking techniques.

Eventually the weather got warm enough on Sunday that i got to take Sienna to the park. I figured that i’d go to the park on Avenue S near the old Doctors offices. I chose that one because it doesn’t have many trees so the sun would shine on us. It was a little on the chilly side when we got there but Sienna seemed so excited to be at a playground that i just let her go..

5Guys + Playground = Nice Day

Saturday was a somewhat nice day. It was sunny but on the chillyish side. it’s still winter, allbeit the tail end of winter. We hit Toys R Us for a helmet for Sienna to use while on her bike then on to a playground for her to run around in. We picked a playground next to Lisa’s old High School (i forgot the name). The playground was a nice one with other kids running around having fun. I can’t wait for it to get warmer so that we can spend more time at places like this. 20 minutes is just not enough for Sienna.

Sienna is 2!!!

Sienna is now 2 years old!! where did the time go? It’s just amazing how we can now carry on an entire conversation with her. She says what she wants and what she doesn’t want. Every day she can say more and more.

Today, grandpa and grandma Chin came over to help celebrate Sienna’s birthday. They brought over a nice cake for her. Here are a couple of pictures. I’m sure that Lisa will have more. I know Lisa felt bad that we didn’t do a bigger party for her but i think it’s ok. we’ll start that next year.

Sahara, Brooklyn Review

Saturday was date night again and grandpa came over to keep an eye on Sienna for us. This time i wanted to go to a restaurant called Sahara. Sahara is a massive place on Coney Island Avenue that we had been to before but for the life of me i didn’t really have an opinion one way or the other. Well, that has so changed.

We got there at about 6:40 (I know that is early but we have gotten used to eating dinner early because of Sienna) and we were immediately seated. The place was already packed with people. A busboy hustled by and dropped come condiments on a plate for us. That should have been the tip off that this was going to be bad. The condiments were all in those small plastic to go containers!! They didn’t even bother to put them in something nice!! Friggin tacky!!

By 6:50, we hadn’t even been given water yet so we flagged down a busboy and requested some water and a waiter.  He finally showed up and took our orders. We had hummus as an appetizer. It was ok, you can’t really fuck that up too badly. The food showed up a little too fast after that. I had lamb and Lisa had Chicken. My plate looked like two turds were placed on a huge bed of rice, shredded lettuce and onions. It was dry and disgusting!! I couldn’t even finish my plate. I actually had to stop because i was starting to get the “i’m gonna puke” feeling.. Lisa wasn’t so thrilled with her dish either. We payed $45 for one app and two entrees. In all, way too expensive for the quality of food and dining experience that you get. I would NOT recommend Sahara

The Zoo

The weather today was the best it has been all year so far!! It was so nice in fact that we decided to go to the zoo. It wasn’t the big zoo, maybe we’ll get there someday but for now we went to the Prospect park zoo. Its a small zoo, just right for little Sienna to walk around. I’m sure Lisa has more pictures.

Lisa and i were disappointed is the pattys at Golden Krust. I feel like the one near home is better for some reason. They were dry and had too much crust. i think that’s the last time we go to that one.

Daddy/Sienna day

Lisa signed up a while back for tickets to the Martha Stewart Show. It happened to be in the middle of the week so i took the day off. I don’t know how Lisa does it. Sienna generally is a good baby but she can be a handful sometimes. Everything worked out fine, i am just amazed at how much Lisa gets done.

Sienna and i headed down to the basement after Sesame Street. I started the laundry then played and played…
