Sahara, Brooklyn Review

Saturday was date night again and grandpa came over to keep an eye on Sienna for us. This time i wanted to go to a restaurant called Sahara. Sahara is a massive place on Coney Island Avenue that we had been to before but for the life of me i didn’t really have an opinion one way or the other. Well, that has so changed.

We got there at about 6:40 (I know that is early but we have gotten used to eating dinner early because of Sienna) and we were immediately seated. The place was already packed with people. A busboy hustled by and dropped come condiments on a plate for us. That should have been the tip off that this was going to be bad. The condiments were all in those small plastic to go containers!! They didn’t even bother to put them in something nice!! Friggin tacky!!

By 6:50, we hadn’t even been given water yet so we flagged down a busboy and requested some water and a waiter.  He finally showed up and took our orders. We had hummus as an appetizer. It was ok, you can’t really fuck that up too badly. The food showed up a little too fast after that. I had lamb and Lisa had Chicken. My plate looked like two turds were placed on a huge bed of rice, shredded lettuce and onions. It was dry and disgusting!! I couldn’t even finish my plate. I actually had to stop because i was starting to get the “i’m gonna puke” feeling.. Lisa wasn’t so thrilled with her dish either. We payed $45 for one app and two entrees. In all, way too expensive for the quality of food and dining experience that you get. I would NOT recommend Sahara

Sahara=yuck
