Summer!!

Summer has arrived!! No joke, it’s friggin hot here!! It’s official, there are only two seasons, Winter and Summer. We had to go into emergency clean mode. The Fans had to be scrubbed and the portable fans dug out of the garage and cleaned.

Walking Skippy that morning turned into daddy horse time. She used to walk the entire block but lately, she wants to be picked up. I think she is dealing with her teething.

Notice how fuzzy the pictures are? Yea well it’s the remnants of the mashed potato incident.

The good thing is that it’s playground weather!! Sienna, Lisa and i went over to Marine park Brooklyn. It is a dog friendly park so Skippy came along too. That didn’t last too long and lisa eventually had to take him home while Sienna and i visited the playground.

There were lots of dogs out that day so she kept pointing at them and getting distracted. She hasn’t gotten into the pedaling and steering thing yet but i am confident she’ll pick it up soon.. i hope..

We ended up at the playground running and running around. I must have really wore her out because when we got home that day she was out for a while!!

Later that day we were out playing in the garage..
BBQ time coming soon!!

German Food

On Friday, Lisas dad was over again to watch little Sienna. It was back to date night. I really enjoy these little nights out with Lisa. We get to be alone together without worrying about Sienna. We do tend to talk about her a lot though but i guess that’s inevitable..

We decided to try out a German place in Bay Ridge called Schnitzel haus. As it turns out, Lisa knows one of the waiters. Our kids have play dates together from time to time. I didn’t think to get a picture of her till now. I really have to do a better job of documenting these events..

As we got there, Lisa ordered a tall beer and do i mean TALL. I eventually tried it and i have to say it was so good that i had to have one too.

Appetizer

We had deep fried camembert with rasbery jam as an apprtizer. Originally, i was a little grossed out at the thought of putting jam on Camembert but it was so good!! They worked perfectly together..

My Brats

Lisa ordered the ribs and i got the brats. This shot is just before i dropped my camera in the mashed potatoes. I cleaned it off as much as i could but i missed some gunk on the lens so all my pics have this fuzzy quallity to them.

Anyway, i think Lisa enjoyed her meal. I liked mine but i still have a hard time eating brats with a knife and fork. The ones i used to get in Wisconsin at the race track are so much better that it’ll be hard to beat that. Having said that, i would go back to this place.

Sunset Park

I was so happy to get to play outside with Sienna. It’s been a cold and wet Spring so far.

On Saturday it was finally a really really nice day!! so nice in fact, that we decided to go on a little picnic.. Sunset Park was our destination.  Sunset Park is a neighborhood that is a mixture of Jewish, Hispanic and Asian people. There’s a very nice clean park and playground. It wasn’t as crowded as i thought it would be. As we got there, Sienna just wanted to bolt from the stroller..

While Sienna and i were playing, Lisa ran over to grab some Vietnamese sandwiches. This was the real reason we came to Sunset Park. The sandwiches are really good and not super expensive.

After all the fun and games of the morning, you’d think that sienna would fall asleep as soon as we get in the car. Well, you’d be wrong. This is what happened about a couple of blocks from the house. I tried to put her down when we got home but that did not work at all either. She was up for the rest of the day..

Snack time

Sienna LOVES cheese sticks!! Next to grapes, the cheese stick is way up there in the snack hirearchy for now. I say “for now” because the whims of a 2 year old swing all over the place.

little helper

Sienna is such a wonderful little helper. As soon as you ask her to help you to do something, she’s totally into it. She doesn’t actually do anything but she likes to try to help. It does slow everything down but i do enjoy her company.

Here she is helping me to setup my lunch for the week. We also do all the dishes.

Date night

It was Friday night date night again. Grandpa happily volunteered to keep an eye on Sienna. They get along great and he is getting the hang of watching her.

We ventured out a little bit further this time all the way to Bay Ridge!! I miss Bay Ridge, have i said that already? Anyway, we visited one of my favorite Mediterranean restaurants called Tanoreen. The food is soooooo gooooood!!

Walking Skippy

As usual, we had our Sunday morning walk with Skippy. Sienna wanted to do it herself so we let her. She looked so cute!! She made it all the way around the block by herself.

Later that day, we decided to go to Bay Ridge so that Sienna could play in one of the nice playgrounds we visited a couple of weeks ago.

We ended up on 86th street at the AT&T store later that day trying to figure out what phone to get. We ended up with none but gained information on which one would be good to get. Anyway, once we left the store it was time for lunch. There was a little Greek restaurant that Lisa and i used to go to all the time when we lived in Bay Ridge. It wasn’t open yet so we strolled across the street to checkout a new place. While we were trying to figure out if we wanted to go in, I guess Lisa was holding Sienna a little funny because she had a little accident. We ended up at 5 guys.
