Anniversary Dinner

LATE POST ALERT!!
On Friday the 7th, Lisa and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary. Lisa had the idea to check out Mortons Brooklyn. I was certainly not against a stake house.

We decided on an early dinner so we could have time to checkout a movie afterwards. After work, I met Lisa there at about 5:30. The bar was already hopping. The place is nicely furnished and immediately they made us feel comfortable. This isn’t you everyday eatery. Our waiter was very nice and explained everything. Since it was our first trip to a Mortons, they rolled out actual cuts of meat to explain what was what.

Oh yeah, they took our picture.

We decided on the meat and seafood special. We both had a small fillet mignon. I had a crab cake and Lisa had shrimp. The food was great but all Lisa kept talking about later was the friggin salad (pictured above). She has been trying to duplicate it ever since. For desert, i had a huge piece of carrot cake. Lisa had a chocolate thing. I was too full and still stuffing my face with carrot cake to notice.
We never made it to the movies. Instead we opted to walk to the Brooklyn promenade. It was a beautiful night.

A few years ago Lisa and i did a shoot near the Brooklyn Bridge for a band called Kagero. It was the second shoot for these guys. The first one was at Coney Island. Both shoots worked out very well. I’m not sure that i want to get into the band shooting business but it was fun.

Stargate SG1

I recently completed the ENTIRE series of the 90s TV show Stargate SG1. The show aired from 1997 to 2006. Yes, thats almost 10 years and 214 episodes!! Thanks to the streaming power of Netflix, i was able to watch series from the beginning. I am a huge SciFi fan and this series captured my interest when it first started airing. As the years went by, i lost track of the show as it jumped networks and air times. Eventually i gave up and just figured that i’d pickup the DVDs at some point. The series started out strong if a little hokey. It had all the traits of a late 90s TV show, long cutaway shots and odd reaction shots as well as bad comic relief. I was hoping that as the series developed over time, the formula would change. WRONG, the original format stayed constant throughout the entire run of the series. Oh well, the story lines were what mattered anyway. i enjoyed most of it. I have to say though that the last season was a little painful to watch but i came so far that i had to finish.

Now on to Stargate Atlantis. 99 episodes on Netflix. So far, the story lines are entertaining but I’m only 26 episodes in.

Bronx Zoo with grandma

Last weekend while grandma was visiting, we took a trip back to the Bronx Zoo. We figured that since we have a membership, we might as well use it.

It was a nice day, a bit overcast and not too humid.

Aren’t they cute!! This is in the Children’s zoo area which is an additional cost normally but since we were members, we get in free. I don’t get the additional cost thing, i mean, whats the point of charging an entrance fee at the door to the zoo then you try and charge people extra to see some of the animals!! Whatever, its a shitty practice.

Sienna couldn’t wait to go on the merrygoround. She remembered it from our last visit and wouldn’t stop asking if we were going there now..
